San Miguel acquires rescue equipment

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) recently took delivery of a brand new amphibious vehicle and nine new Avon UK rescue boats with outboard motors for use in flood rescue operations.

The 30-seater amphibious vehicle, powered by a 300-horsepower diesel engine, is equipped with a life raft, lifebuoys, life jackets and other rescue and safety equipment.

The rubber boats, suitable for diving expeditions, high-speed reconnaissance and rescue operations in shallow and rocky waters, are the same as those supplied to defense forces worldwide. These will be deployed in different areas to help in rescue efforts in the event of floods.

SMC President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon S. Ang was on hand to inspect the equipment together with executives from San Miguel Brewery Inc.
