Unilever Barkada Golf 2010

The fairways at Club Intramuros Golf Course, with the walled city as its backdrop, was once again the venue for this years Unilever Barkada Golf Classic. An annual tradition for the past 12 years, this much awaited event by golfing enthusiasts from the media, business partners and other Unilever guests felt much like an anticipated reunion of friends.
With players nearing almost 100, Unilever chairman and CEO Fernando Fernandez led the ceremonial tee off together with special guest and avid golf player, Senator Tito Sotto, Malaya columnist and long-time Unilever friend Ducky Paredes and Unilever’s VP for Corporate Affairs Chito Macapagal. Players were challenged to a game of System 36 using only 5 clubs.
And for the first time, there were not just one hole-in-one prize. Instead, players took a swing at a chance for any one of the 3 hole-in-one prizes in any of the seven designated par 3 holes. The first set of four par 3 holes had a brand new Toyota Innova as the grand prize, hole no. 3 had a Vespa scooter waiting for its lucky winner while the two remaining par 3 holes had an Ipad at stake.
Unilever's Chito Macapagal and Fernando Fernandez with Sen. Tito Sotto“I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who has joined us for this great game of golf. Thank you for the support you have given us through the years.
