As part of the company’s continued commitment to responsible advertising, particularly to young children, Unilever Philippines recently signed, together with the other members of the Philippine Food and Beverage Industry, its commitment to advertise products to children in a responsible way to support parental efforts to promote healthy lifestyles to their children.

The company has committed to comply with the following minimum criteria:

•Advertising of products to children under 12 years of age must be of products which fulfill specific nutrition criteria per product category based on scientific evidence and/or applicable national and international dietary guidelines relevant to children. For the purposes of the Pledge, “advertising to children under 12 years of age” means advertising in programs and publications monitored to have at least 50% of its audience to be children under 12 years of age. “Advertising” covers TV and print media.

•No commercial communication to primary school students will be conducted except if it is specifically requested by, or agreed with, the school administration for educational or informational purposes.

Monitoring of member companies will also be established in order to ensure compliance to the Pledge.
